Happy New Year and updates!

Happy New Year everyone!!! I hope the first day of 2019 has been kind to everyone and you are looking forward to another fun year. I know I've been terrible at updating you all lately, don't worry my best friend in Tasmania has been bugging me on and off for the last 5 weeks to update this blog, and I did intend to do this earlier, but I got lazy with it and busy with life so sorry about that.

So it's been 7 weeks since surgery now, and 5 weeks since I went back to work, for the most part it has been smooth sailing. Everyone at work has been really supportive and I can't thank them enough as they stepped in for me with heavy lifting as well as just helping me out when I've had an off day. As I said most of the last 5 weeks has been pretty great, I've been getting the hang of listening to my body, slowing my eating and stopping before I get full and figuring out when it's time to eat so I don't end up feeling sick.

I have had a few moments however where I left eating a bit too long and have had dizzy spells and felt off, and I have had one day where nothing wanted to sit in my stomach. from what I've heard and read of what some other people go through though I consider myself very lucky to have only experienced these mild issues.

I am so happy to be off restrictions now, I love being about to get in at work and actually get things done. I can get out and do trolleys, tidy up behind the desk without worrying how much everything weights and it feels amazing.

On top of that I got to ring in the new year by accomplishing my first big milestone, of 25kg lost! this means I am 1/3rd of the way to achieving my surgeons ultimate goal for me which is so exciting for me. on top of the 25kg lost I have also lost a total of 84cm which just blows my mind.

By far the hardest part for me so far has been dealing with being tired constantly, yes I am sleeping better through the night and not snoring anymore, however my body is still adjusting. The first 3 weeks I felt fantastic, it was amazing and I was on top of the world, and then my body figured out what I had done to it and things got a little harder. Basically my body needed time to figure out how to function on the reduced calorie intake and some days it performed better than others. I'm still tired a lot but I can feel it getting better now and hopefully within the next 2 weeks I'll be feeling more on top of everything.

For now though I will leave you with some before and now pictures and my excitement over the progress I've made so far, the future that lays ahead in 2019 and the fact that I get to start boot camp and pt sessions again as of Saturday!!! I hope your new year is as amazing as all of you

xx Sarah
